Join us to strengthen our relationship with Allah, His Prophet, and each other during this blessed month of Ramadan

A beneficial gathering of good company for young and old, individuals and families...all welcome!

Inspired by the way of the Prophetic community, the intention of the Neighborhood Halaqa is to come together for the purpose of remembering Allah and reflecting on Prophetic character. Every member of a family and community are invited to travel together in spiritual development and to improve our relationship with Allah, His messenger, and our faith.

This month's edition, in particular, is special because it falls within the last 10 days of Ramadan. We already know from prophetic tradition that gatherings of remembrance and reminders are loved by Allah. In fact, angels search for such gatherings around the earth so they can be a part of them and make note of those in attendance. Then what can be said of gatherings when they are held in these blessed days? The days and nights of Ramadan are not like the rest of the days and nights of the year. This month is filled with apparent and hidden treasures that are open to anyone who seeks them. It is a time when shayateen are chained and the believers have an uninterrupted opportunity to gain Allah's gaze and good pleasure. We invite you to join us in this intention on Saturday, April 15th at 5:30 pm at the Sanad Sanctuary for this month's halaqa, to have iftaar with us, and to share dinner. We look forward to hosting you!

The Neighborhood Halaqa is an effort to provide a sanctuary for children, young adults, parents, and professionals to travel on this path together.

Something for the Entire Neighborhood

For children, we are currently telling the story of Dip & Dive, two young sea turtles on a journey of a lifetime navigating their new world and life. Along the way, they learn about faith-based principles, Prophetic character, and purpose through their travels and interactions with the wondrous creations of Allah. This epic narrative poem is written by Ust. Rehan Mirza and it is premiered chapter by chapter in the Neighborhood Halaqa.

For young adults (12 to 18 yrs), we have a short talk led by a national/local youth leader or invited guest speaker gifted in speaking with this age demographic. Themes of spiritual development and Prophetic character will be shared in relevant perspectives and engaging ways.
For adults, currently, we are reading from the Book of Assistance of Imam al Haddad. We may also cover other texts or lessons related to sulook (spiritual wayfaring) or Prophetic character. Halaqas are led by visiting scholars/teachers or Br. Rehan Mirza, Sanad Trust executive director.

The Neighborhood Halaqa is intended to facilitate the spiritual journey of all those who attend by creating an environment of adab, shared experience, and communal support. The Halaqa concludes in remembrance with the recitation of the Ratib al Shahir of Imam al Haddad and dua.
